Carrie Covell, LMSW, earned her Master's Degree in Social Work at Columbia University, where she participated in the DBT Training Program under the supervision of Dr. Andr√© Ivanoff, president of The Linehan Institute's training company, Behavioral Tech. Carrie completed intensive training in DBT through Behavioral Tech, and has received training in CBT Essentials, CBT for Depression, and CBT for Anxiety through the Beck Institute.

 

Prior to joining the team at Behavioral Psych Studio in the spring of 2019, Carrie worked as a DBT intern at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, CT, where she treated patients in both the DBT and Dual-Diagnosis Transitional Living Programs, as well as in the DBT Intensive Outpatient Program. Previously, she interned as a primary therapist at a private practice in Jackson Heights, Queens, and served as Columbia University's DBT Training Program Assistant. 

 

Carrie is passionate about building strong, authentic relationships with her clients while capitalizing on the science of evidence-based treatment to help people meet their goals and build the lives they envision for themselves. 

 

Originally from the beautiful Central Coast of California, Carrie has lived in NYC for the past nine years and enjoys traveling with her partner, practicing yoga, and dog-sitting for her friends whenever she gets the chance.
